Her life’s work is healing with words, mostly using her gift of writing to tell meaningful stories in her five published novels, help others to do the same with developmental editing and coaching, and writing grants to fund good causes. Along the way she has been a hospice chaplain, consoling ten thousand patients and families – and Laurie used those tender lessons as the caregiver for her own parents until they died at home with her. As a certificated spiritual director, she continues to assist clients in her private practice work toward transformation and wholeness.
Laurie strives for not only wisdom but also kindness and compassion in all her work.
Her novels, several of which were international best-sellers, were published by Simon and Schuster of New York and Andre Deutsch of London. She lived in Europe and the Middle East for many years and has had a distinguished career in journalism, serving as London Bureau Chief of Time magazine, as a news producer for the NBC station in Boston, a columnist for The Boston Globe and a foreign correspondent in Cairo.
Simply Devine Communications offers an array of editorial services which can be customized to meet your own needs, whether it’s writing a warm and graceful history of your own family or sharpening and polishing your novel before publication.
